I've been asked to fill in for Kimberley Alcock in teaching her Capilano University Continuing Education course The Nuts and Bolts of Fiction. Hopefully, Kimberley's students won't be too disappointed when they come to class and find me. I'm excited to teach the class and am looking forward to meeting everyone. Below is the course description:

The building block of good fiction is craft, and craft is about understanding and executing story fundamentals: character, dialogue, plot, setting, voice and theme. In this interactive class, you examine each of these and see how an understanding of them leads to stronger writing. This course is for both beginning writers, and writers who have studied fiction but want to revisit these elements. The coursework combines lectures, discussion, writing prompts, and a final story workshop.
