Sanctuary

Last night at the BC Binning Studios at UBC, we put on a staged reading of my full-length play, Sanctuary, and I think it went rather well. The actors were all fantastic (Brava! and Bravo! everyone), and the audience was kind (they laughed in the right spots, didn't leave part way through, clapped at the end, and didn't throw fruit).

I am indebted and grateful to everyone who came, and to those of you who shared your insights during the Q&A session after the reading, I thank you. Your suggestions were most helpful and I'm sure will guide me during the writing of the next draft of the play. It was wonderful to finally hear the characters speak outside my head.

I've worked with Erin, Chris, Joanna, and Liz before (both in the Walking Fish and Brave New Play Rites festivals) and it was terrific to meet Cecile, Gia, Kevin, and Michael. You were all terrific, professional, and awesome to work with. Thank you so much.
