Hanging Out My Shingle

A few days ago, a friend asked me if I did any editorial work--you know, like copy editing or proofreading or manuscript consultations. At the time, I said no. She asked me, why not? I didn't know. So, I thought about it. I supposed I could. After all, my undergrad degree was in Rhetoric and Professional Writing. I've been a technical writer and an editor. I've written heaps of reports and manuals and advertising. I've studied fiction, have just completed SFU's The Writer's Studio, have seen my fiction published internationally, am writing a novel, and will be starting my MFA in Creative Writing in September at UBC. I've done manuscript consultations in the past, and have critiqued many more through school and a writer's group I belong to. So, why not do it? Absolutely no reason comes to mind.

So, I guess, consider this my grand opening. As of now, I'm available for a host of services including copywriting, proofreading, and manuscript evaluation. Fiction or non-fiction, persuasive or technical. Check out my editorial services page for details.
